A new project begun in 2011 in the Steampunk genre (essentially Victorian science fiction).An opportunity to exhibit work at an exhibition of Steampunk-themed artwork in Bradford in late 2011 has been the catalyst for finally starting a project that had been in development for over a year. The images take the form of large photo manipulations blending landscape photos with shots of home-built miniatures and specially-shot photographs of people in costumes. The series can be considered an evolution of the Britannia Model Village project, and indeed is set in an imagined 'past' of the fictional world created for the back story of that project.

The series depicts images of Saltaire, West Yorkshire, supposedly photographed as part of a Census in 1901 (the "Century Survey" being an attempt to document the whole of Britannia at the turn of the century). Though photo manipulations, the shots are intended to look as if they are plausible, and that this fantastic, unusual technology really did exist. Shown here are a number of concept images produced prior to the full series (under production at the moment).
